Proper offseason storage is critical for improving the lifespan and performance of your trail cameras. Here are some quick tips:
1. Remove your batteries!
- If your camera uses AA batteries, remove these before storing.
- If your camera uses battery packs, eject the battery pack from the camera and store it at room temperature in a dry, well-ventilated area. When storing for more than two months, be sure that battery packs are approximately half charged (medium/yellow LED indicator).
Battery packs in long-term storage should receive a refresh charge every three months.
2. Place a silica gel packet or two inside the battery compartment. Buy packets from Amazon here.
3. Store away from magnets and other electronic devices.
