We try to set proper expectations before you buy so there are no surprises. Here are some items of note:
- Our flash is 100% invisible to humans & animals; because of this, night pictures won't be as bright and clear as competing cameras that use a visible flash.
- Battery life varies depending on the camera model you have. If your camera uses AAs, you can expect the camera to last roughly 2-4 weeks, depending on your settings, how much activity is in the area, and the quality of batteries you're using (Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries will last much longer than your typical alkaline battery, for example). If you are using the Y2 bundle (solar panel and rechargeable battery packs), battery life is typically 1-6 months without sunlight and is dependent on your settings and camera activity. With good sunlight, you can expect your batteries to last a year or more.
- In order to use the wireless features of this camera, you’ll need a data plan from Yellowstone.ai. This camera will send pictures to any phone, regardless of your provider, but the camera requires a data plan purchased through us. Data plan information can be found here.
- Our cameras use passive infrared motion detection technology. Passive infrared technology is great because it is very energy-efficient. However, it is not perfect and it does miss motion from time to time, so you will not get a picture of every single person, deer, or vehicle. It can also generate false triggers. If 100% detection is critical for your application, then we recommend a solution like Verkada.
For items purchased on our website, we offer a 60-day no-questions-asked return policy. This will give you time to use the camera, check wireless coverage, and make sure it’s the best camera for your needs, risk free. If it isn’t perfect for you, simply ship your item back to us and we’ll provide a full refund of your purchase price.
For items purchased from Amazon, sporting goods stores, or elsewhere, you can return your camera for a full refund per the return policy of the store from which you bought the camera.
